SEOReport vs SE Ranking Website Audit API: which SEO audit API fits?
SE Ranking's audit API crawls up to 300,000 pages per audit, billed in credits; SEOReport returns a fix-ordered diagnosis per site. Pricing and MCP compared.
SE Ranking's Website Audit API runs the crawler behind its audit tool, either as a standard HTML crawl or an advanced audit that renders JavaScript. It returns a health score, issues by severity and category, crawled pages, links and the pages affected by each issue, as JSON, and charges credits per crawled page. [5][6]
SEOReport's API returns a finished diagnosis of a site: a score and band, a score per area, and every finding in fix order with the fix and how to verify it. It is sold as a monthly plan with a set number of new-site diagnoses. Prices on both sides change; the figures below were read on 18 October 2026. [1][2]
SEOReport and SE Ranking Website Audit API side by side
| SEOReport | SE Ranking Website Audit API | |
|---|---|---|
| What a run returns | A finished diagnosis per site: the overall score and its band, a score for each area, open issues by severity, and every finding in fix order with why it matters, how to fix it, how to verify the fix, and the evidence and pages behind it. JSON, Markdown, text or PDF. | A health score from 0 to 100, issues grouped by severity (errors, warnings, notices) and category, crawled pages with per-page metrics and status codes, internal and external links, the pages affected by each issue, and domain details, as structured JSON. [1][5][6] |
| From issues to work | Findings arrive ranked in fix order, each with the fix and how to verify it. | Every issue has a code, and an endpoint returns each URL it affects; SE Ranking suggests piping them into Jira, Asana or your own queue. It describes 115+ technical checks per crawl. [1][6] |
| How runs are metered | Monthly credits. One credit runs a complete diagnosis of one new site URL in a calendar month; running a URL again after you have its completed report does not use a credit. Unused credits do not roll over. | Credits per crawled page: 2 for a standard audit, 20 for an advanced (JavaScript-rendered) audit. Reading reports, pages, issues, links and history costs 0 credits. [2][5] |
| Entry price | Essential $19/month (15 credits), Pro $39/month (50), Agency $89/month (150). API and MCP access on every plan; white-label PDFs on Pro and Agency. | Pay as you go from $50 per 250K credits ($50 minimum deposit); API access also comes with the Core ($129/mo) and Growth ($279/mo) plans, and for higher volume an API Add-On, added to an existing subscription, starts at $149/month. A trial includes 100K credits. [2][8][6] |
| Re-checking after fixes | Running a site again after you have its completed report uses no credit. | A recheck endpoint re-audits the same audit at 2 credits (standard) or 20 credits (advanced) per crawled page, and a history endpoint returns the audit as it was on a given date. [2][5] |
| Crawl control | The request takes the URL, plus "forceRerun": true to scan a site again. Our public pages document no page-limit, rendering or threshold settings. | Stronger here: max_pages from 1 to 300,000 (default 1,000), crawl depth, requests per second, allow, disallow and hide paths, title, description, word-count and heading thresholds, and HTTP Basic credentials for protected sites. [1][5] |
| Authentication | A Bearer API key created in a paid account. The same key opens the REST endpoints and the MCP server. | An API key sent as "Authorization: Token YOUR_API_KEY"; an account can hold several keys for different applications. [1][7] |
| Official MCP server | Yes. https://seoreport.dev/mcp over Streamable HTTP with the same Bearer key, 9 tools: create, poll, list, read and download reports, read the account, list plans, start checkout and send feedback. | Yes. Hosted at https://api.seranking.com/mcp with OAuth 2.1 or an API key. SE Ranking says audits can be created, checked and read as MCP tools, and that not every API endpoint is available through MCP. [4][9][6] |
| Keyword, backlink and SERP data | None. SEOReport sells site diagnoses and weekly monitoring, not keyword, backlink or SERP data. | Stronger here: keyword research, backlinks, domain analysis, SERP and AI visibility data through the same API family. [1][9][8] |
When to choose SE Ranking Website Audit API
Choose SE Ranking when you need to crawl large sites with control over scope: up to 300,000 pages per audit, crawl depth and speed, path filters and your own on-page thresholds, with a JavaScript-rendering mode for single-page apps. [5]
It suits teams who route issues into their own tooling. Each issue code maps to the URLs it affects, results cost nothing to read once crawled, and the same API reaches keyword, backlink and SERP data. At the pay-as-you-go rate, $50 buys 250K credits, which is 125,000 standard-audit pages by our arithmetic. [5][6][8]
When to choose SEOReport
Choose SEOReport when the deliverable is the diagnosis itself: a ranked list of what to fix on a site, each item with why it matters, the fix, how to check the fix worked, and the pages it was seen on. That is what the report export contains, so there is no prioritisation layer to build on top. [1]
The cost is a fixed monthly plan rather than a per-page meter: one credit per new site in a month, and a rerun of a site you already have a report for uses no credit. Pro and Agency add white-label PDFs for client work. [2]
An agent can run the whole flow itself: the MCP server takes the same API key as REST, and its tools start a report, wait for it, and read the findings and score. The URL only has to be publicly reachable. [1][4]
Using both together
Our suggestion, not a joint integration: SE Ranking for deep, configurable crawls of large sites and for keyword and backlink data; SEOReport for a fix-ordered diagnosis you can hand to a client as a PDF. Both run as MCP servers, so one agent can call each for the part it is good at. [5][9][2][4]
Every endpoint, the MCP server and the plans are on the SEO report API page. API and MCP access come with every paid plan.
