Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about SEOReport, AI SEO, GEO, pricing, and API access.

Free Report

What does the free SEO report include?

The free report gives you an overall 0–100 score, a category breakdown covering crawl access, URL signals, on-page SEO, site structure, AI search readiness, structured data, and security. You see concrete findings with evidence — actual header values, affected URLs, and detected signals — not generic advice.

Do I need an account to get a report?

No. Enter any URL on the homepage and the report starts immediately. No signup, no email, no credit card.

How long does a report take?

Most reports complete in 3–8 seconds. The first findings appear within 1–2 seconds while the full analysis continues in the background.

What does the score mean?

The 0–100 score is a weighted average across 7 categories. Each category is scored by its checks, with critical failures capping that category at 50. The score reflects real technical signals — not check count — and uses fixed weights for consistency across every report.

Paid Reports

What do I get with the advanced report?

The advanced report includes all findings with full evidence, a prioritized fix plan ranked by impact, per-page detail, a downloadable PDF, and an AI-generated executive narrative summarizing the most important issues and recommended next steps.

Can I download the report as a PDF?

Yes. The PDF is a white-glove document with a cover page, executive summary, category breakdown, and full findings. It is included with the advanced report unlock.

Do you offer before/after comparisons?

Before/after comparison is available as an add-on when you unlock an advanced report for a site that has been scanned before and shows a higher score on the new scan.

Pricing & Billing

What subscription plans are available?

Current subscription pricing is loaded from the Paddle-backed billing catalog. The plans are Essential, Pro, and Agency, with credits, rollover, MCP access, and PDF features shown from live catalog data.

What's the difference between Essential, Pro, and Agency?

Essential, Pro, and Agency differ by catalog-backed credits, rollover, white-label PDF access, and priority processing. The FAQ displays the current plan details from live catalog data when available.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel at any time. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. No long-term commitments.

Do you offer refunds?

One-off report unlocks are non-refundable once the advanced report has been accessed. Subscription refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. See our refund policy for details.

API & Docs

Can I use the API with my AI agent?

Yes. SEOReport provides an MCP endpoint that your AI agent can connect to directly. Your agent can create reports, check status, and download PDFs using a single API key. See the agents page for the MCP URL and setup instructions.

How do I create an API key?

Sign in, go to your account settings, and create an API key. You need an active subscription to create keys. One key covers both the REST API and MCP access.

What MCP tools are available?

The MCP endpoint provides tools for creating reports, checking report status, listing your reports, downloading PDFs, managing subscriptions, and listing available plans. Your agent discovers these automatically when connecting.

SEO, GEO & AI Search

What is GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)?

GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization — the practice of optimizing your site so AI systems like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews can find, understand, and cite your content in their answers. It builds on traditional SEO with additional focus on structured data, answer-first formatting, and AI crawler accessibility.

What is the difference between GEO and traditional SEO?

Traditional SEO focuses on ranking in blue-link search results. GEO focuses on being cited as a source in AI-generated answers. They share many foundations (crawlability, structured data, quality content), but GEO adds emphasis on FAQ structure, answer-first formatting, entity signals, and ensuring AI crawlers can access your content.

What is Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)?

AEO is an earlier term for optimizing content for answer engines — systems that provide direct answers rather than link lists. It overlaps with GEO and AI SEO. The core ideas are the same: structure your content so systems can extract and cite it. SEOReport checks all of these signals under its AI / GEO Readiness category.

Does SEOReport check AI answer visibility?

Yes. The AI / GEO Readiness category checks whether AI crawlers can reach your site, whether your content is extractable by AI systems, whether you have FAQ and structured Q&A content, and whether your structured data helps AI engines understand your site. It covers llms.txt, FAQ schema, answer blocks, entity markup, and content freshness.

Why do AI search engines favor FAQ content?

FAQ sections provide exactly the format AI systems look for: a clear question followed by a concise, direct answer. Well-structured FAQs with FAQPage schema are highly extractable, meaning AI engines can parse them and cite them in generated answers. Sites with genuine, detailed FAQs report significantly better AI visibility.

What is llms.txt and does my site need one?

llms.txt is a proposed standard file (similar to robots.txt) that provides AI systems with a structured overview of your site. Most major AI crawlers do not actively request it yet, but it is low-effort to add and may become more important. SEOReport checks for its presence and validates its structure.
